Doppler Systems Delivers Airport Radio Direction Finder
Under contract from Apta Services S.R.L., Doppler Systems has successfully delivered and installed its DDF7014 Multichannel VHF Radio Direction Finder at Tabora Airport and Sumbawanga Airport in Tanzania.
The installation at Tabora Airport was completed as part of a major airport renovation and improvement project, while Sumbawanga Airport—located in Tanzania’s Rukwa Region—is a newly constructed facility. In both cases, the DDF7014 was selected to support reliable and accurate direction finding for aviation communications.
The DDF7014 covers the full aviation VHF frequency band and is capable of simultaneously providing lines of bearing on two independent frequencies. By adding additional processing units, the system can be expanded to monitor up to 16 channels simultaneously, all using a single direction‑finding antenna. This scalable architecture allows airports to increase monitoring capacity while minimizing infrastructure and installation costs.
Doppler Systems is proud to support Apta Services with cost‑effective, state‑of‑the‑art radio direction finding solutions that enhance operational efficiency and air traffic safety.
